Lecorum took an army of 100+ fans across to Leeds for the Lastbandstanding final. Having
made the final three after competition from over 20,000 bands, the boys took to the stage up against two other finalists. Buoyed by an army of traveling Lecorum Lovers, frontman Chris Howard started a wave of 'Yorkshire Yorkshire' chants which continued throughout the Hull band's set. The set was energetic and Lecorum owned the stage. The highlights were 'Anyone who seems to care' and 'Down and Tired'. The enjoyment had on stage quickly translated to us down below. I know Lecorum aren't everyone's cup of tea but haven spoken to them afterwards they come across as lovely guys and I certainly walked away smiling. Having received 86% of the crowd's votes, the judges overruled the decision, much to the displeasure of the crowd. Neon Kicks were crowned the Last Band Standing to a chorus of disapproving boos, thrown objects , and quickly left the stage as chants of 'Lecorum Lecorum' rang around the sold out Cockpit. Grant Paddington wore a thong with the words 'We Love Lecorum' and he wasn't alone in his approval for our local heroes. Having watched the band for the first time, and travelled across on my own from Hull, it's fair to say the 4 piece, who have been labelled 'Piano pumping indie rocking artists' by NME, did our city proud. At a time when the football club is at it's highest ever position, it's safe to say our music scene is also thriving and bands like Lecorum did us proud on Sunday night.
